Our Packaging

What It Is
Right now, our Mascara 101 vial is made of virgin plastic. -
Why we chose it
While we don't like using virgin plastic, we haven't yet found an alternative for our mascara vial yet. We're working towards a tube with a recyclable applicator and more biodegradable packaging. -
Recycling
Make sure your mascara tube is empty! Trim off the spoolie and throw in the trash—this piece is not yet recyclable. Place the vial, cap and rod in your home recycling bin. Because Mascara 101's components are small, we can't guarantee they will make it to the recycling stream. We've partnered with Pact Collective to make sure your hard-to-recycle items get recycled. Head to our recycling page to get started. All of our secondary cartons are made from 100% post-consumer waste and FSC-certified paper. Simply toss them in your home recycling bin and you’re good to go.
