Things We're Loving Right Now: Summer Edition
We are officially in the midst of summer, and though this one might look a little bit different from in years past, we’re still spending our days outdoors where and when we can and soaking up all of the season has to offer (at a socially safe distance, of course). Whether we’re catching rays in our backyard with a glass of wine, heading to the park with a book, laying out at the beach, or getting in a morning hike, these are the favorite items that have helped make our summer.
Sorry, we had to. Sunglow has been our go-to for adding a lightweight, bronzey, and super glowy finish to our skin this summer. We’ll wear it alone for an extra sheen of color or we’ll wear it under tinted SPF or foundation as a hydrating primer.
Kinfield Golden Hour Bug Spray
Mosquitos and bugs of all kinds are out during summer, but bug spray is gross. The strong smell, the long list of chemicals, the sticky residue… we’re just not big fans. BUT! We’re really big fans of Kinfield’s Golden Hour Bug Spray, which smells amazing with hints of vanilla and citrus and is made completely clean and is free of any harmful chemicals like DEET, the active chemical in bug repellant. The best part is, this bug spray seriously repels bugs. It’s been a savior for summer evenings when bugs come out to bite.
Dry, frizzy hair that’s prone to breakage can seem a lot more common during the summer months when you’re spending more time outside in the sun and in the water. We love this towel from Crown Affair because it’s made from a custom microfiber that gently blots moisture away from hair without causing any extra damage like heavier cotton towels can. The bonus: it features an elastic strap so you can secure all of your hair in and go about your day while it dries!
LA locals, listen up! If you love wine, Helen’s Wines is your spot for all of your summer sipping needs. The shop carries a wide selection of natural wines to more traditional picks, and has a not-to-miss wine of the month club if a whole box of bottles is more your speed (it’s ours). They ship nationally, so if you’re not in LA you can still enjoy from afar!
Vital Tonics Golden Milk Popsicles
We recently got the recipe for anti-inflammatory golden milk popsicles and we cannot stop making them. They’re the perfect sweet summer treat and they’re great for keeping gut health in check. It’s really a win-win. Here’s how to make them:
In a saucepan combine:
- x1 can of coconut milk
- ½ teaspoon ginger
- x1 teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- Pinch of sea salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Whisk until all ingredients are incorporated. Add two cinnamon sticks to saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Take off heat and add raw honey to taste once the mixture cools
- Pour mixture into popsicle trays
- Add 10mg Vital Tonics Nano CBD to each popsicle
- Freeze for 4-6 hours
We’ve been blasting this playlist by Helena Star in the mornings, in the evenings, and everything in between. She’s packed it with thoughtfully selected summer tunes to vibe with whether you’re staying cool inside or playing it loud from your car.
