Meet our Head of Product Development

One thing’s for sure: Sarah Tallman is no stranger to the beauty world. She’s worked in product development at one of the biggest brands in the world (where she met Saie’s founder, Laney). We are so excited to have one of the industry’s top product developers lead our department, and we recently sat down with Sarah to learn more about her role at Saie, her go-to beauty looks, and how she likes to spend a Saturday afternoon…

SAIE

Describe your job at Saie in three words. Ready, Go!

SARAH

Multidimensional, creative, nimble

SAIE

What does it mean to you to "Have It All"?

SARAH

To be fully excited about my life and fulfilled. More shiny than dull. Amazing people, exciting work, plenty of time in nature, fun travels, good food, and a healthy body that moves.

SAIE

What’s the most out-there piece of beauty or wellness advice you’ve ever received?

SARAH

Moisturize to the point of looking like a glazed donut.

Do you have a go-to beauty look? Walk us through it

SARAH

I have dry skin and tend to lean toward a dewy look. I find that the moisture from a dewier look helps my skin retain hydration and keeps it from getting too dry throughout the day/night. I love to start with a face oil, then I apply a sheer coverage dewy foundation. After that I put on a powder bronzer to both bronze and contour (even though I know this horrifies makeup artists). I am an "always bronzer" kind of girl.  Next is a powder blush from the upper part of the apples of my cheeks to my lower temples, I dab a subtle cream highlighter on my upper cheek bones and cupids bow. For eyes, I usually do a matte cream shadow in a peach or mauve shade (it makes my blue eyes pop), then I like a deep black kajal on my waterline and our Mascara 101. For my brows, I use a brow pencil then our Tinted Brow Butter. I don't really wear color on my lips so I'll either wear our Liquid Lip Balm or a very pale mauve lip gloss.

What does a typical Saturday look like for you?

SARAH

Gosh that's tough because they always look different but, I can safely say that they always start with good coffee....this is a must.  if I am in LA, I will try to get to the beach or on a hike for some exercise, see friends, maybe something self-care-ish like acupuncture, yoga, infrared sauna or Korean spa.  And sometimes the movies (I am a huge movie fan) and/or out to dinner. Then hopefully ice cream. It's all pretty wholesome I have to admit and it might sound boring but it's what makes me happy!
