Your makeup starts with skin prep. After applying skincare, take ~30 seconds to massage it in with your fingertips or a gua sha— using light, upward and outward strokes to boost circulation, depuff, and help products absorb so makeup melts in seamlessly.

SLIP TINT™ TINTED MOISTURIZER + THE BIG BRUSH

Apply 1-2 pumps using your fingertips to help melt into the skin. Use a clean brush to buff off and absorb excess product. Avoid using a lot of product near and in facial hair. Stop at natural hair growth line and avoid going on top of the hair.

Technique: Brush priming (see game-changing tips section) for all areas. Under Eyes: Apply a small amount to hydrated under eyes using the smaller end of the brush in a windshield wiper motion under the eye. If you need to build more coverage gently tap the brush to build. Blemishes: Spot concealing should be done in thin buildable layers. Let each layer set before applying another. Redness: Using the larger end of the brush and a stamping motion, build again in layers.

BRUSH PRIMING TECHNIQUE

This is the easiest way to make your makeup look professionally applied as someone who’s not an expert. Ideal for beginners or when working with products and shades that have brighter pigment. Apply product to the back of your hand and work evenly into the bristles of your brush prior to applying it to skin. This creates a controlled, even, and seamless application and avoids over-applying product.

TAP + PRESS TECHNIQUE

A seamless blending method to avoid disturbing underlying layers, ensuring a smooth and seamless blend every time. After priming your brush, apply product to skin using gentle tapping and pressing motions (instead of dragging).

PRESS + ROLL

For the best powder application, gently press and roll the edges of The Fluffy Brush or The All-Over Powder Brush over areas you want to eliminate shine—like the T-zone, around the nose, and over blemishes. Do not aggressively sweep or buff the brush.

LESS IS MORE

Applying too much product can cake on the face and exaggerate fine lines by sitting on top of the skin. Layer gradually in thin layers, adding coverage or pigment only where needed. Use a clean buffing brush such as The Base Brush to absorb and buff off any excess product.
